Bury Lane Farm,(HALF PRICE DAY TICKETS FOR LAC MEMBERS)

Melbourn, Near Baldock, Hertfordshire

The Luton Angling Club is pleased to announce an  Arrangement made with the Owners of the Bury Lane Fishery, Melbourn, near Royston in Hertfordshire, that will be ‘trialled’ for 6 months from 1st June and will allow Luton A.C Members exclusively to fish at half price rates.

View of the Lake Dick Timothy with 68lb 13oz of Tench caught during a match.

Bury Lane Lake is a relatively small Commercial Fishery with just 22 pegs. It is well stocked with the usual range of Coarse Fish with ‘specimens a plenty’.

There is a car park close to the lake with pathways to the swim areas. At present the Adult Day Ticket price is £10.00 and that will still apply to non-Luton A.C. Members.

However, Luton A.C. Members will only pay £5.00 on production of their Membership Books.

Tickets are sold at the “checkout” in the on site but remote Farm Shop where there are toilets and a cafeteria available for our use. During ‘Shop Hours’, tickets must be purchased before proceeding to the lake.

Normally fishing is only available during ‘Shop Hours’ but Luton A C Members will be able to access the fishery from Dawn until Dusk by the use of their Club Key, providing that the access gate is left locked after use during the ‘out of hours’ period.

Luton A.C. members must on no account allow non members access before ‘shop hours’ or to remain after the departure time indicated on the gate. To do so would put this Agreement in jeopardy.

Those arriving before the shop and therefore the gate, is open must return to the shop as soon after it opens in order to get their reduced price Day Tickets.

How to Get There

By travelling from Luton via Hitchin, Stevenage, A1 (M), Baldock By-pass, Royston By-pass and A10 to Melbourn, I clocked the journey to be 26 miles from Barnfield College in Luton and that is 5 miles less than the journey to Wyboston. Board members who have seen the fishery think is a delightful spot.
