On the Grand Union canal the big news this week is a 32lb common carp caught by a holidaying boater Dave Hemley on sct8 using a tutti fruiti boilie. He also reports to having seen an even larger fish. Elsewhere Graham Marsh caught a 20lb+ bag of roach and bream from section 4a using float fished corn. Dave Phillips fished at Slapton and using pole fished chopped worm and caught perch to over 2lb plus several 3lb+ bream and some quality roach.

John Coster had a multiple catch of carp from two different sections over two days, firstly visiting section 9 for 6 carp to 13.5lb on popped up fake corn and then visiting section 5 for 8 carp to 17lb 2oz all caught on maize and fake corn.  

With the school holidays upon us anglers fishing the canal are reminded that an EA rod licence is required (available from any Post Office) and that a day ticket must be purchased on the bank £5 adult, £3 concession & £2 junior unless the angler is a Luton AC member

At Beckerings Reservoir, Steppingley the roach fishing has been exceptional, Jim Badgery had a 17lb net using the pole 15lb of roach , 2lb of perch. Another angler reported catching 30 roach the largest over a pound. A number of anglers have reported good mixed bags of skimmers, roach and perch.

Michael Evans caught 5 carp up to 26lbs including 'Little Gertie' for the fourth time. Mick Stringer caught carp up to 18lbs and Gary Stevens caught 4 carp to mid doubles. Ken Scott caught a bream just under 5lbs.

On North House Lake, Wyboston a couple of multiple catches of carp but the best was from James Deardwell with commons at 17lbs and 26lbs 9ozs and mirrors at14lb 1oz and 19lb 4ozs. Harvie Millier caught a common at 24lbs 3ozs and a leather at 24lbs. Paul Brown caught a common at 26lbs.

Dave Clark had a common at 16lbs plus a 6lb 4oz tench and Roger Simpson caught a scale perfect common at 5lbs.

On the South Lagoon Simon Fin fishing peg 28 caught 2 tench of 7lbs 6ozs and 7lb 4ozs feeder fishing red maggot at 80 yards. Dawn Hatchelt caught a 12lb 8oz zander and bailiff Danny Kelly caught a 10lb pike. Plenty of skimmers are now showing.
