3rd December 2006

As normal for the time of year there has only been a few anglers on the bank , the poor weather conditions have not helped and the reports are few and far between.

The canal has fished quite well up until the weekend with good numbers of carp showing from all the normal sections, the bailiff reports the heavy wind and rain at the end of the week has kept the banks empty of anglers and those who have ventured out have been catching silver fish mainly on punched bread. one report that came to me via the web page was from Iain Olney whose young son Thomas fished the canal on section 14 last week and caught 3 carp, two mirrors of 13lb 2oz and 8lb 3oz and a common of 8lb 1oz all taken on a snowman rig consisting of a 15mm source boilie topped with 10mm pukka pine pop up.

At North House the only report I have is from Jason Regan who is still fishing and catching when most seem to given up this week he took four fish of 23lb 14oz 22lb 4oz 21lb 13oz and 18lb 9oz.

On the South Lagoon a few tench have shown John Rutter and John Constantine both catching with fish to 6lb showing. Few pike have been caught with fish to low doubles taken by regular Simon Heath, The bailiff reports there are still lots of roach being taken.

Beckerings has still produced fish we have had reports from Colin Holmes who fished a short mid week session and took a common of 15lb 2oz as did Dave Williamson who using the same tactics to fish to low double figures.

Sonny Nathan took two commons of 16lb and 14lb as well losing a fish, and the night anglers are still catching fish regularly.

PLEASE NOTE: BECKERINGS WILL BE CLOSED FROM SUNDAY 3/12/06 UNTIL DAWN SATURDAY 9/12/06

This weeks match was fished on town south. 27 anglers fished

1st was S Davis 10lb 8oz

2nd was M Dickins 9lb 14oz

3rd was P Currell Jr 9lb

Next weeks match has been rescheduled on to section 14 of the canal due to the poor condition of the river
