At Beckerings this week the bailiff reports that the recent good sport is continuing with plenty of fish coming out to both the day and night anglers. There have been good numbers of both carp and bream showing to bottom baits, there have been very few float anglers fishing for the silver fish.

Jim Tookey fished a night session Thursday and had four fish to 19lb another angler fishing the same night also took four fish through the night. Nathan Sonny took two fish one of 18lb 11oz and another of 11lb while his brother had a mirror of 21lb 4oz.

 

Junior Michael Smith continued his recent good run taking the fish known as the ghost at 18lb 13oz on Saturday night while his fishing partner Jason Bell had a fish of 19lb 3oz to add to the nine fish he has taken over the past few weeks this included at least two fish over 20lb.

 

Luton AC stalwart Gary Stephens fishing Sunday took a fish of double figures this fish taking the bait on the drop.

 

On the South Lagoon most anglers have been fishing for the predators, Reg Willis had the best zander of the week at 11lb 5oz there have been good numbers of fish showing. Regular Simon Heath took five pike to 14lb along with two zander of 7&8lb. and Mark Warwick had two pike one of 9lb and one of 8lb 12oz.

 

North House Lake has produced very little this week as heavy rain and frost affects this lake quickly, it will not take long however before the fish become used to the change and begin to feed. The best fish reported this week was from Andy Smith who had a 15lb 6oz common.

 

The river on the Wyboston complex has begun to produce some good chub over the past week with Roger Simpson reporting a fish of 4lb 8oz and Alan Wilkie taking fish of 5lb plus.

 

The match this week was fished on section 14 of the canal and was a silver fish match 17 anglers attended,

1 S Arthers       13lb 2oz

2 P Currell jnr  11lb 12oz

3 D Pellow        11lb 2oz
