At Beckerings Reservoir, Steppingley new member Mel Brown has caught some decent fish over the past few weeks a number off the top using dog biscuit. Mel has caught commons weighing 12lb, 15lb and 31lb 8ozs a mirror at 28lb 7ozs and a bream of 8lbs. At the same venue Jim Badgery caught a nice 5lb tench.

On the South Lagoon at Wyboston the fishing is exceptional. Andy Smith doing a 24-hour stint caught over 200lbs of bream and roach the largest bream weighing 8lbs. Daniel Wells had a good bag of bream to over 40lbs including a 7lb specimen and Richard Harding caught a decent zander weighing 9lbs. The fishing is particularly good for the bream and skimmers with good bags coming out to feeder fished maggots. On North House Lake Steve Cutler had an 11lb 8oz common with bream of 4 and 6lbs. Terry Willison caught a 13lb common. On the adjacent river Ouse the Environmental Agency have been through clearing a lot of the nearside vegetation, the fishing is improving with the river colouring after the recent rainfall. John Webber had a great mixed bag fishing during the day capped with a 4lb tench and lots of roach and perch. On a night session he caught bream up to 8lbs. Further down the river at Black Cat the Environmental Agency have been through but for good measure our bailiffs Danny and Terry Kelly have cut out and dragged 8 swims. From 2 of these swims the couple caught over 100 roach using hemp, tares and wheat.

On the Grand Union canal some large carp have been caught and lost. An angler named Jeff fishing near the White Bridge in Leighton Buzzard caught 12 bream up to 4lbs and 2 carp to 14lbs on luncheon meat, on another session Jeff caught 4 tench on sweet-corn. An angler fishing close to Tesco’s caught 3 carp and 5 bream. The ‘Mudflats’ is also productive with some large carp and bream being caught. Carp have smashed a number of anglers fishing at The Globe for roach this was also in evidence during last week ends matches. Results: -
