At Beckerings, the sport continues to be good with plenty of fish to be had by anglers fishing various different methods.

The carp are showing well with many fish being taken by both night and day anglers, with commons and mirrors to mid twenties being caught.

The best multiple catch was taken on a night session with five carp to low twenties along with some bream. The best method is to find the fish before starting and fish to them this has produced many fish over the last week,

The bream have also shown mainly on carp baits with fish to 8/9lb being netted, many regulars believe more would be taken if fished for with tackle and baits suited to the job.

Anglers float fishing are catching roach and perch mainly on maggot, Club President Peter Stone fished mid week and took perch to 1lb 9oz

North House lake continues to produce with many carp to mid twenties being taken, Jr Adam Sheehan fished a night session and took two commons one of 18lb and one of 15lb, Adam’s mum sat with him all night to allow him to fish the night.

Paul Bettles also had a two fish catch again both commons of 17lb and 13lb. Best fish of the week was a 23lb 2oz common taken by Nikki Waldock.

Steve Dobson had bream to 6lb as well as a 19lb common and David Smith took three fish all commons of 19lb 12oz, 18lb, and 14lb 4oz, another angler with three fish was Jason Regan this time all mirrors at 16lb10oz, 19lb5oz and 17lb 11oz

The South Lagoon is producing plenty of skimmers and roach to maggot baits although the bigger fish have been much harder to tempt this past week.

A few zander have been showing Mick Barker had one at 8lb 2oz and lady angler Dawn Hatchelt had a fantastic fish of 12lb 5oz

The river at Wyboston has fished well this week anglers catching lots of roach, perch and smaller chub, Bailiff Danny Kelly took a chub of 5lb.

The match this week was fished at Beckerings Reservoir 13 anglers took part.

1 M Dickins   7lb 11oz

2 D Moss        7lb   3oz

3 D Read         4lb   4oz

Club sectary John Morris has asked me make an appeal regarding the submission of specimen fish claims, these trophies are available to any one submitting them in writing under the required rules.

There has been a tendency over the past few years not submit claims, why no one is sure but they are a nice reminder of a great days catch and are a significant advertisement for the club as it shows the quality of fishing we have to offer.

So please start submitting your catches you may take away the best fish of the year trophy
