Don't forget if you are a member there is a more detailed report within our members area on the website. With more specific information about canal catches.

The Grand Union Canal has been very productive this week. Dave Murdoch fished on Thursday and caught a nice roach of 12ozs, plus a couple of small bream on float fished sweet corn and also a 9lb 4oz mirror carp on a ledgered 15mm halibut pellet, in the same area a visiting Bardag A S member had carp up to 13lbs having learnt his lesson on his previous visit when he hooked an estimated 16lb carp on 6lb elastic only to lose it after 4 hours. There have been a number of reports of the odd very large carp coming out. A Visiting Milton Keynes A C member reported having a brilliant day fishing catching some very nice bream.  Our bailiff Steve Sharp witnessed a 14lb common being returned by a day ticket angler which was caught on float fished corn and a 2lb 8oz rudd was reported by another day ticket angler fishing with corn. Also on many sections plenty of carp to mid/upper doubles and bream to 5lbs caught during the week. Two visiting Beacon A C members also had carp to 20lbs.

On the river Great Ouse at Lavendon more anglers are trying their luck. Above the weir the odd tench and carp have been reported with some good bags of roach and small chub being caught on the float, best bait red maggot, below the weir the river is overgrown but very good for trotting for the roach and chub.

On North House Lake, Wyboston the carp are still showing with Jake Selley catching a mirror of 23lb 5ozs and a common of 20lb. Kevin Day had a common of 20lb 8ozs and Alex Mortimore a 15lb 10oz common. On the South Lagoon the fishing has been quiet with skimmers and small roach showing. On the adjoining river Great Ouse John Rutter caught some quality roach up to 12ozs as did Fred Hodson fishing with wheat and maggot.

Many congratulation to the Luton A C match men for winning the Southern Summer Canal League. 10 teams of 6 anglers competed in a series of 6 matches between 3 Locks and Kings Langley. Luton A C won by 3 points. The competition has been so successful this year that 15 teams are likely to be competing next year.
