Beckerings Reservoir, Steppingley is fishing well with plenty of carp being caught, our bailiff Mark Sessions witnessed a 13lb carp being caught on Sunday by a teenager and over the weekend Kevin Barrable caught a 17lb 8oz common plus a low double mirror on Saturday and on Sunday caught 'Little Gurtie' at 30lbs 6ozs.

On the Grand Union canal not that many anglers on the bank but Alec Sharp had an enjoyable day at Slapton catching mainly roach and perch with a fish almost every cast. Jamie Brookes from Uxbridge visited Chelmscote after finishing 2nd in the Blenheim match the previous week. Jamie caught some nice bream and after seeing another angler doing better with carp and bream returned the following day. When our bailiff saw Jamie that afternoon it was 3-o to the carp even on no 18 elastic but he had caught a few good bream up to 3 lbs. Over the weekend a lot of Luton A C members on the bank. The best area was at Ivinghoe where there where double figure nets of roach and skimmers, the best method being chopped worm.

On the South Lagoon at Wyboston the only success over the week was John Mustoe who caught pike of 18lbs, 10lb 2ozs, 9lbs and 7lb 4ozs another angler fishing in peg 5 caught 4 zander and a couple of pike all average size. On Saturday night a zander of 10lbs 8ozs was caught in peg 1 and a much larger pike was lost in peg 2. The 2nd leg of the 'Edwards Predator Challenge Cup' fished on Sunday was difficult with freezing fog and falling temperatures followed by clear skies and bright sunshine. There was not a sign of a pike or zander but that's fishing.

On the match scene a report from Section 9 Grove Chuch a match was won by Brian Burbidge with 17lbs of bream fishing in the middle of the trees. 2nd was Harry Thompson with 5lbs 10ozs with a mixed bag, fishing just below the 'Animal House' swim and 3rd was Mick Clarke. Luton A C fished a club match on 'Fringe Pool' at Tingrith on Sunday. 20 fished. Results:-

1st Mick Dickens 35lbs 3ozs (Roach, rudd, crucians and golden carp)

2nd Malcolm Harley 21lbs 12ozs (Large mirror carp, carp and crucians)

3rd Pat Mills 13lb 14ozs ( mainly carp)
