At Beckerings this week the large common was taken by Graham Baggert at 30lb 2oz, I believe he fished after the match had finished and fished a float rod with 4lb line and a 16 hook with maggot as bait. Regular Phil Randall has fished a number of sessions over the week taking fish to around 20lb, Phil Anderson reported taking two very large bream along with a carp of 19lb, and Gary Stevens had a 27lb mirror, Kevin Bullus reported taking a new p/b mirror of 24lb 10oz as well as a 14lb common the fish fell for pineapple boilies fished over particles in the margins, The bailiff reports that fish are coming out during both day and night.
It has come to the attention of the club that many anglers are not abiding to rule of keeping their bivvies on the platforms and this not an acceptable situation and must stop It is a rule forced onto the club by the owners of the water any member not abiding to the rule may well find that they will have their book endorsed or be expelled from the club.
Please remember to read your membership books for the rules that apply to our waters. Some waters have additional rules and these are usually either forced onto the club as part of the rent agreement or made due to people upsetting our landlords, and new rules made to ensure our continued lease of the water. It’s not only your fishing you are jeopardizing it’s the other 1000 or so other members.
On section 9 of the canal the bailiff has reported carp to double figures and bream to 3lb.
The E.A were active on the canal this week and caught some of the more undesirable element that seem to use and abuse the canal, I have a report that they caught a number of alcohol filled non members fishing under the power lines at Slapton after an extrication they were dully booked for not having a license and moved off the canal hopefully they will have a heavy fine to pay..........!!!!!
