This Thursday 22/3/07 will see the Annual general meeting held at the Britannia club situated in Proctor Way (near Luton Airport) it is an open meeting for all members and as it is your club and many vital club issues are floored it would be good to see as many members as possible attending and a warm welcome will be extended to all.

 

Beckerings Reservoir this week has seen a slowing of sport, there has only been the odd carp taken but the bream are showing more regularly.

 

On the Wyboston complex the last fish of the river season fell to Steve Briggs who reported a good chub of 5lb.

 

On the South Lagoon there has been an upturn of sport with many anglers reporting good catches, Simon Heath took a large predator catch he had seven zander to 9lb and three pike to 12lb.

 

John Constantine reported early season tench to 6lb as did John Mustoe who had three tench to 6lb as well as perch of 2lb 4oz. 

 

Some of the waters large pike have started to show with Will Hortum having a red letter day catch with fish of 24lb 15lb and 13lb as well as a very large zander of 14lb, also into the fish was Will`s dad Bill who had pike of 18lb,15lb, and 12lb.

 

Well known on the water is lady angler Dawn Hatchelt who again this week showed this week her skill at catching the lakes inhabitants taking pike of 12lb along with zander of 7lb,9lb, and 14lb.

 

At North House Lake the carp are starting to show in most swims on the lake, this week has also seen activity from the bream and tench. The best carp of the week fell to Paul Bettles who reported a common of 26lb 3oz.Not far behind was a fish taken by Richard Harding who had a mirror of 25lb 8oz. Regular Andy Smith had bream of 8 and 9lb as well as a common of 19lb 12oz.Junior Adam Sheehan took tench to 5lb as well as a common of 7lb.

 

Canal bailiff Steve Sharp reports that the car park repairs on the golf range are still ongoing, two anglers fishing the section reported a good net of roach taken on pole fished caster tipped with worm, small baits were taking small silver fish. On the town south section behind Tiddenfoot pit anglers were catch some very large perch on worm and maggot baits. On section 9 an OAP Mr Pollard was catching bream to 3lb plus on corn during a mid week session and our club president was spotted on the same section midweek putting in a few hours,

 

The last of the club matches was held this week on section 14 of the canal with 20 anglers attending,

 

1st was P Currell Jr with 26lb 10oz.

2nd was S Davis with 18lb 12 oz

3rd  was P Currell Snr with 17lb 8oz.
