The big news from the past week is the breaking of the clubs zander record, this record has been repeatedly bettered at least once a year since the club has controlled the South Lagoon , The latest was a fin perfect specimen of 16lb 5oz taken by club bailiff Danny Kelly it was taken on a small dead bait on during a midweek night fishing session. A picture of this fish can be found in the photo gallery on our website
The heavy rain over the past weeks has seen the Lagoon fill not only with flood water but large amounts of fish moving in from the river to escape the flow
There have been many large carp seen on the water as well as other species. Andy Smith took advantage of the carp taking fish of 23lb 5oz, 17lb 5oz and 7lb as well as zander of 8lb 12oz and 6lb 5oz. John Rutter took a 6lb tench as well as a very large bag of quality roach while float fishing,
On the river on the Wyboston complex Dawn Hatchelt took carp of 18lb 4oz, 15lb and 8lb 2oz. The recent rain has again put a good amount of water into the river and it was slowly rising on Sunday but should very fishable by midweek as long as the rain holds off.
Terry Wilison reports taking a good mixed catch from Eaton Ford with a best chub of 4lb 8oz as well others of 2 to 3lb, he also had three bream between 6 and 7lb as well as a large number of quality roach to 10oz.
