The bailiffs report that the canal has been fishing well over the weekend. At the lay-by and section two Alf the bailiff saw anglers taking plenty of silver fish along with a few skimmers, Further on bailiff Steve Sharp reports that there are good bream showing on sections 8, 9 and 10 with fish of 4lb as well as good roach to 1lb.On the Slapton section Adrian Purser was taking carp to 12lb 10oz on halibut pellets. On section 13 during a midweek session Thursday Alec Sharp reported taking so many bream around the 3lb weight that he lost count of the number of fish he caught, he was fishing on the pole with pellet as hook bait.
At North House Graham Murfin had two commons of 19lb and 15lb regular Andy Smith had fish of 16lb and Martin Bronham had a15lb 4oz common.Club membership secretary Joanne Edwards returned to the venue this week and was rewarded with bream of 9lb 8oz and 8lb also into the bream was Brett Herdiman who reported fish of 9lb 7oz and 6lb.
On Beckerings
sixteen year old Aaron Bullus fished a meaty boilie at around 10 yards on an
evening session during his first trip to the venue and was rewarded with a new
p/b a mirror of 20lb 4oz. On Wednesday during a short session in the heavy rain
Paul Jeffery fished a flavoured piece of meat to catch a 20lb 13oz mirror he
reports losing a much larger fish after a long hard fight which he believes may
have been a cat. Another angler having some good results over the past weeks is
Dave Petryszyn who in his last three trips has taken fish of 24lb and 27lb then
a fish of 22lb 12oz and on his last trip a 23lb 8oz. Peter Strydwick reports a
mirror of 28lb 2oz and a tench of 7lb and Michael Evans has reported the best
fish from the water in the past few weeks a mirror of 28lb 11oz. On Saturday
night Tom Grylls had 11 fish with a best at 23lb 1oz.
