The heavy rain and strong wind at the end of the week has kept most anglers indoors, and I have had very few reports in this week.
The only reported fish this week at Beckerings was from Paul Cheadle who took a common of 28lb on a peach flavoured boilie a picture of this can be seen in the photo gallery click here
At the South Lagoon few anglers have been fishing, those who have, have been catching bream to 8/9lb along with tench, we do have a report of a 7lb 8oz tench from the lagoon. The bailiffs also report that the roach and skimmers had started to feed well and being caught in large numbers.
The canal was fishing well through this week with plenty of fish being taken. At three locks Lawrence Watson had a p/b common of 21lb.
Best reported catch this week went to Adrian Purser who had a 100lb plus catch
of carp with a best of 18lb 3oz taken on Halibut at Slapton.
Also of note from this section a practicing match angler from Dept of health Ac
could not believe how easily he was catching good bream and large roach on
corn!.
Mr Spittles and his fishing partner both reported taking carp from the Grove
section one looking like a KOI. At the Golf range a day ticket angler was taking
carp to 13lb one meat using a size 18 hook, there were also plenty of carp being
taken on the surface during the hot weather midweek,
The bailiff also reports that the roach were spawning at Grove during the hot weather midweek.
