The carp at North House have started to show in numbers this week as the weather warms up. The best reported fish this week was 29lb15oz common caught by Ivan Sayer he also had smaller fish of 13lb, His wife Sue not to be left out had three fish a mirror of 19lb and two commons of 12lb 8oz and 9lb. Kevin Jeffries had a 12lb mirror and regular Graham Murfin had a multiple six fish catch with fish of 18lb 12oz, 14lb, 13lb 14oz 14lb 14oz, 12lb 7oz and 5lb.
On the South Lagoon the large bags of fish have started to show. Andy Smith reported a 90lb haul with bream to 9lb and tench to 7lb, John Rutter had a large all bream catch with fish to 5lb, Julie Murfin had tench to 4lb and bream to 4lb. 86 year old Fred Webb took a tench of 5lb along with a large number of silver fish.
Club treasurer Dennis Hunt fished a short session at Beckerings on Saturday trying out some carp tactics using a helicopter lead core rig and a size10 talon hook, with three grains of corn as bait he landed a 14lb 12oz mirror.
The canal continues to fish well on any of the sections with fish reported from them all. On section 9 a Mr Spittles took three carp on corn the best a 13lb 15oz mirror. Also from this section Adrian Purser had a linear mirror of 15lb 4oz on meat in the middle of the day. Section 8 has been alive with skimmers as has section 10, There have been plenty of fish to be had on the golf range section with some carp showing and a reported best of 24lb
