The Grand Union canal has been a bit patchy of late mainly due to the wet weather. Good mixed bag catches have been reported at Stoke Hammond , Chelmscote and Ivinghoe Golf Range.

A lot of carp were showing the middle of last week on the majority of our stretch. Member Andy Chappell was pleased to land a 9lb common carp whilst feeder fishing with a light sigma wand. Our bailiff Steve Sharp reports good catches of bream and roach in most areas.

At Beckerings Reservoir Steppingley some nice roach have been reported by pleasure anglers float fishing with maggot and sweet corn. During the week a number of double figure carp were reported the largest weighing 18lbs. Night fishing seems to produce the larger fish with a 27 pounder coming out on Saturday night from peg 11.

At North House Lake, Wyboston, this water again affected the by the influx of rainwater was slow early in the week but Dean Boutwood caught commons of 23lbs and 16lbs and a mirror of 19lbs. Luke Smith caught a leather carp at 24lbs 2ozs and Joanne Edwards caught a 7lb bream.

On the adjacent South Lagoon David Edwards caught a PB tench of 7lbs 10ozs and fishing partner Ken Scott caught bream up to 4lbs.

Verulam A C had a match there on Sunday and the winning weight was 8lb 3ozs.

Luton A C fished a club match on the G U canal on Sunday at Bridge 110 Old Linslade. In very blustery conditions Roger Tebbott came out on top catching a couple of nice bream in his 6lb 10oz winning weight. 2nd was Ricky Quick with 5lb 7ozs and 3rd was Steve Davies with 4lb 12ozs.

This Sunday Luton entertain Vauxhall A C for the 'Paul Kisby Memorial Trophy' on the G U canal sections 4b & 4c bridge 108, Chelmscote. Draw 7.45. Fish 9.00 - 14.00.
