The large carp at North House have started to show in some
numbers this week, the best was a 28lb 4oz common caught by Ivan Sayer also
taking big fish was Nigel Gillard who had a commons of 15lb 8oz and 27lb.Another
fish of 27lb 8oz was reported by Norman Stacey, David Starling reported a two
fish catch taking a 17lb common and a mirror of 16lb 10oz.
On the South Lagoon the bream and tench have begun to show Leslie Murfit taking
fish up to 6lb
On the canal this week carp were seen showing an interest in surface baits. On
the golf range carp to 18lb 8oz were being caught. Member David Stokes took the
the best reported perch of the season at 3lb 9oz from the members only section
at Slapton. At the Grove Peter Jordan was catching some very good roach and Mr
Constantine fishing directly outside the Grove P/H was taking plenty of skimmers
and roach.
This year Luton AC members have sole fishing rights on the 12 miles of canal no
other clubs have any rights to fish other than any official matches, day tickets
will still be available.
The Sunday work party at Beckerings took place despite the poor weather
conditions. 14 members turned up and enjoyed the tree lopping/pruning in the
snow!!
