Beckerings Reservoir, Steppingley has been producing, Peter Strudwick caught a 26lb mirror carp with a double figure pike. Joanne Edwards and Brett Herdiman fished on Saturday night and caught a 10lb common carp each plus a 19lb 8oz mirror, (more like a leather as it only had 2 scales on its back) plus an 8lb bream. Another night angler caught a number of decent bream. During the week a father and 2 children had 3 carp up to 15lbs.

 

At Wyboston the river Ouse is now within its banks but still pushing through. The South Lagoon is still attracting the predator hunters,

Mark Simmonds caught a pike of 16lb 13ozs and Dave Brosnan had one at 14lb 8ozs. Last week I reported that Mark Simmonds specimen chub come from below the weir at Lavendon, my apologies, it came from above the weir as have a few more specimens this season.

 

The Grand Union canal is very clear due to the cold conditions and very few boats moving. There were a number of matches at the weekend. Results

 

Verulam A C fished Town South, Mentmore Road, Linslade.

 

1st)    Phil Rule    7lb 9oz 8drm    (All perch on worm)

 

2nd)   Stan Kiddle    5lb 7ozs    (Mixed bag)

 

3rd)    Cliff Myers    5lb 5oz 8drm    (Silver fish on squatt)

 

Kings Arms A C Cheshunt fished Ivinghoe Golf Range. 10 fished, 3 caught.

 

1st)    Dave Rowlands    4lb 12ozs    (small roach, perch and gudgeon, probably a 100 fish)

 

2nd)    Brian Harmer    2lb 7ozs    (mixed bag)

 

3rd)    Alan Rowlands    12ozs

 

Luton A C fished at Seabrook, section 14. 22 fished, 16 did not weigh. A number of pegs had solid ice in front of them at the start of this match.    

 

1st)    Malcolm Harley    1lb 1oz 8drm (1 chub caught on worm)

 

2nd)    Wally Nicholls    1lb 0ozs

 

3rd)    Dave Moss    15ozs

 

This weekend Luton A C fish a club match at Sandy Bridge, sections 6a & 6b. Draw 8.45am. Fish 10.00 to 15.00.
