9th March 2008

More anglers were out on the river for the last weekend of the season, at Biddenham on Saturday the fishing was difficult with clear water and cold water temperatures the only fish coming to the net were small roach, perch and bleak to maggots set deep using a stick float. On Sunday, Biddenham had improved with a bit more colour, Gary Scott fished an 8bb stick float shotted shirt button style on 2lb line with an 18 hook, Gary loose fed white and red maggot, little and often with a small amount of cloud bait. It was a struggle to start but Gary caught small perch after a while, most around the 6oz mark but caught a decent one at almost 1 1/2lbs that was fin perfect. Another member fishing peg 5 had a chub of nearly 4lb on feeder fished maggot using 3 maggots on the hook.

At Lavendon Mill nr Olney, two brothers Ian and Andy had a cracking day catching 28lbs 8ozs between them, including 5 tench for 18lb the largest 4lb plus, the smallest 2lb 8ozs, a pb chub of 5lbs and a pb bream of 5lbs.
