The work party this week was held on the river at Eaton
Ford, 17 members attended allowing some much needed work to take place at
the venue, platforms were replaced and trees trimmed and pruned as well as the
whole section being strimmed and mown.
North House Lake produced well earlier this week with plenty of carp showing,
Dave Woods had a 20lb 6oz common and Beckerings bailiff Mick Stringer had a
common of 17lb. Best catch of the week fell to Ivan Sayer who took six fish
including three twenties the best a mirror of 29lb, Mark Farrell also had a
multiple fish catch of five fish all high doubles to 19lb, Dave Tuft had a 16lb
12oz common and regular Graham Murfin took 13lb 14oz common. Another angler
taking a number of fish was Bruce Starling who had three fish of 18lb plus. Lady
angler Dawn Hatchelt had mirror of 23lb and the best reported fish this week
fell to Tony Pearson who took a common of 29lb 3oz.
On the south Lagoon Mark Simmons took bream to 6lb fishing on Saturday night,
The carp at Beckerings have not been feeding this week probably due to the cold
snap during the week although anglers are reporting catching bream at night.
On the canal section 9 has been producing bream to 3or 4lb in reasonable
numbers, section 10 has again turned up perch in excess of 2lb mainly to worm.
At the golf range there have been lots of skimmers and large roach being caught,
on Thursday Alec Sharpe fished on the tip taking a good number of bream to 3lb
along with good sized roach, and anglers on the Globe section are reporting
taking good bags of quality roach.
