Ian Waller was 1oz short of the Luton AC
mirror record when he landed a 34lb 7oz fish from the clubs North House Lake
on the Wyboston Complex. Successful bait for Ian was Innovate Squid 2t. At
the same venue Heathrow Bait Services field tester Phil Lovesey caught a
25lb 14oz mirror.
Mark Simmonds fished the South Lagoon
catching Zander of 15lb 4oz and 7lb 6oz on deadbaits plus some jack pike.
Shane Welch fished Beckerings Reservoir
near Flitwick and bagged 8 carp to 19lb on fake corn fished over pellets.
Dan Stringer was also at Beckerings and had a 28lb 14oz mirror on S2t and
Dave Williamson reported a common of 14lb. Plenty of roach skimmers and
perch are being caught on the tip.
The first round of this seasons Predator
Challenge Cup will be fished on Sunday 8th November 2009 on the River Great
Ouse at Lavendon. The draw is at 8am with fishing between 9am and 3pm. There

Luton AC bailiffs have continued
their night patrols on the canal and successfully removing anglers
from no night fishing sections with the backing of the Police.
Anglers are reminded that only Luton AC members may fish the canal
at night and then only from specified sections.
Through a water share
arrangement with Barnet Angling Club Luton AC members may
also fish several additional stretches (not listed in the
membership book) of the River Great Ouse, River Ivel and
River Thames, maps that show parking areas etc are available
to download from the club web site or by sending a request
with an A5 sae (large size stamp please) to the club office.
These waters offer excellent fishing for barbel, tench,
bream and carp.
