THE EDWARDS PREDATOR CHALLENGE CUP 2010/11
The club continues to hold its annual Predator competition which is open to all members of Luton AC. If you wish to enter please fill out the entry form by clicking the link below.
There is a £1.00 entry fee and a £4.00 Pool for each round paying out 50/50 heaviest total and largest fish of the day.
2010/11
Each fish caught will be assessed against current British Record at the time and awarded points as a percentage of the record. The Winner of the challenge cup will be the member scoring the highest aggregate points over the 4 rounds. You can of course enter any single round if you cannot make all of the dates.
Pike & Zander Match Rules and Regulations for Participants Times and Duration All Competitors will contact stewards who will attend and weigh each fish as it is caught using the clubs scales. The method of calling a steward will be announced before draw for order of Walk Off 1. Match Limited to a maximum of 20 Luton AC Members Only (Please make sure you bring your membership book and book early to avoid disappointment) 2. Competitors shall be allowed to use up to 2 rods at a time. 3. Matches fished rover style with anglers drawing for order of walk off. (Anglers not to pass man in front until that angler has stopped. Anglers to leave adequate distance between themselves and fellow competitors) 4. Suitable Tackle must be used and will be subject to inspection by the stewards at anytime during the match (Recommended Tackle is a Pike or carp rod of 2lb test curve or more, 15lb line and suitable wire trace. Hooks should be barbless with barbed bait holder hooks permitted. A 36 inch plus landing net should also be used. Beachcasters, boat rods or rods deemed by the stewards as too light will not be allowed, and any angler found without the appropriate tackle will be disqualified from the match.) 5. All accepted methods, including spinning/plugging will be allowed but livebaiting will not be permitted in line with Club byelaws. (Fresh deadbaits may be used if caught from the venue being fished on the day) 6. All Anglers entering the Predator match should be in possession of the proper unhooking tools. (This should include as a bare minimum, forceps and an unhooking mat.) 7. No Fish should be retained for more than 30 minutes wherever practically possible. (All fish retained must be in a pike tube or carp sack designed for the purpose A tube/sack should never hold more than one pike at a time - this is an EA byelaw in England and Wales. ) 8. All runs should be dealt with promptly, (gorge tactics should result in the immediate disqualification of the offender) 9. Dead or damaged fish will NOT be weighed in. 10. Fishing must not begin before the starting signal and must cease at the finishing signal. (An angler who is playing a fish when the final signal is given will be allowed up to 15 minutes to land his catch. No fish hooked after the final signal will count.) 11. No angler will pre-bait their swim before the start of the match. 12. Able-bodied anglers must strike, play and land their own fish. Junior and disabled anglers must strike and play their own fish (but assistance with landing and unhooking is allowed - commonsense must prevail.) 13. All competitors may obtain assistance from stewards to unhook fish and anyone experiencing difficulty should immediately try to summon assistance. 14. No angler with litter at his peg will be weighed in. 15. Any angler found to be transgressing either the code of conduct, specific match rules or endangering the quarry in the eyes of the stewards will be disqualified from the match with immediate effect.
