The River Ouse- Wyboston "Black Cat" The Club's stretch of River Ouse known as the Black Cat fishery comprises 26 pegs over a length of some 600 yards, much of it opposite the once famous Biggleswade A.A. "Jungle" fishery. The majority of swims are on natural bank with just 6 or so with platforms to make access easier and safer.
The Depth of the river varies from Three to Eighteen Feet and is quite wide and usually has a slow to moderate flow. All of the usual river species are present, Bags of Roach to 15lb have been taken, Also Chub to 4lb, Bream of 4lb+ and Tench of 5lb There have also been reports of some large Pike and Carp Night Fishing is NOT permitted at this venue. Getting There Street Map of Location Click Here (map opens in a new window) This Fishery is located just north of the well known Black Cat roundabout accessed through a Locked Club Gate along the track immediately south of the A1 Windscreen Company's premises on the southbound carriageway of the A1. It is immediately before the roundabout so be careful not to miss it otherwise you have to go north again to get to it. If you are coming from the south you need to take the A428 Exit and then rejoin the A1 Southbound carriageway. There is no access from the Black Cat roundabout or northbound A1 carriageway.
There is a Dedicated parking area at the end of the track near the river. Anglers MUST keep to the river edge of the field. Please do not obstruct the track or the gateway and make sure the gate is securely locked after entry/exit. Fires not permitted at this water, No Dogs and No Night Fishing. Failure to observe these rules could result in expulsion from the Club and may result in the loss of the water.
