The River Great Ouse, Wyboston This Fishery extends from the Inlet to South Lagoon (Peg 1) to the derelict boathouse (Peg 15) and then beyond to the boundary fence to the rear of Heron Lake (syndicate water). Pegs 4, 5 and 6 are dedicated swims for wheelchair users with hard standing for their vehicles. Able bodied anglers may use these swims but must be prepared to move if the swim is required by a disabled angler. Night fishing is also permitted at this water with no prior booking necessary (one night at a time with no successive nights). Parking is available directly behind each swim up as far as the Nature Reserve. Parking is available on the hard standing at the nature reserve which then provides short walks to the rest of the pegs. There have been many double figure Carp taken from the upstream end of the fishery and Chub are regularly taken often with multiple catches of fish of 5-6lb being reported. There are many large Bream present and also Tench sometimes make an appearance. The Current Club Record Chub was caught in 2006 at 7lb 2oz and Chub over 6lb are reported regularly. There have also been Pike Caught up to 29lb and Perch of 3lb+, Roach fishing is also good with nets of 20lb plus being reported, Individual fish of near to 2lb have also shown.
Able bodied anglers may use the disabled pegs but priority should be given to disabled anglers Getting There The River is situated at the Rear of the Wyboston lakes Leisure Complex. Entry to the Complex is from the slip road access to the A1 from the Roundabout adjacent to the Crown Public House at the A1/A428 Junction south of Eaton Socon. Turn Left into the Complex and follow signs to "Lakes" past the Golf Driving Range on the right to the T junction. turn Left and proceed to end of road onto the track.
