The River Ivel- Blunham  "Twin Bridges"

Water Share with BDAC

The Fishery

A short stretch of fast flowing river, conveniently situated just a level walk from the road. Heavily weeded in the summer. BADAC control fishing on both sides of the river. Consult the map for actual boundaries

Access to about ½ a mile (both banks) of the lovely river Ivel. This river is non-navigable being only 11 metres wide and a foot deep in places, hence in summer it can suffer from a weed problem. However, for such a small river it holds a remarkable head of fish. Roach and Chub are the predominant species but Carp, Tench, Bream, Dace and Gudgeon can show from just about anywhere on the venue.

Danger Area

This water is crossed by High Voltage Power Lines. Members are forbidden to fish between the warning notice boards.

Species

Roach, Bream, Chub, Dace , Perch, Gudgeon and Carp

General Advice

A good all round fishery, although weed growth can cause problems during the summer

Please remember to respect the Rules of both Luton Angling Club and BADAC as any problems will result in the loss of these waters.

Getting There

From the Sandy Roundabout (A603) junction on the A1. Continue North on the A1 for a further 2 miles and Turn Left Signposted Blunham. The road crosses the River Ivel at two humped back bridges and parking is in the lay-by on the left just after the second bridge.
