The Inland Waterways Association and users of the canal  protested against the DEFRAs funding cuts to British Waterways over the weekend of 3rd & 4th March..

The Milton Keynes Branches protest took place on 3rd March on the canal towing path outside Tesco at Leighton Buzzard.

All users of the waterways were  invited to attend and support the protest local MPs and Councillors were also invited.

The weather started off very poor on Saturday morning but the rain soon cleared up and it became a very warm and sunny day.

Luton Angling Club was represented by Chairman David Edwards, Fisheries Officer Ken Scott, Treasurer Dennis Hunt, Club Secretary John Morris and Matchman Pat Mills.

The canal was blocked by a selection of boats and several speeches were made by users of the canal and by MP Andrew Selous.

Our thanks to any other club members who attended.
