Rod Licences

Any angler aged 12 years or over, fishing for  freshwater fish, salmon, trout, or eels in England (except the River Tweed), Wales or the Border Esk and its tributaries in Scotland must have a current valid Environment Agency rod licence.

bulletChildren under 12 years of age do not require a rod fishing licence
bulletFull and Concessionary rod licences expire on 31st March
bulletFailure to provide a valid Environment Agency rod licence could result in prosecution (maximum fine £2,500)

Rod Licences are available by telephone, online or from any Post Office

See the Environment Agency Website for more information on how and where to buy a licence.

All our venues are regularly patrolled by Environment Agency bailiffs and they have caught and prosecuted unlicenced anglers from our stretch of canal.
